Architalx hosts periodic lectures and discussions about architecture. This nonprofit is dedicated to broadening the awareness and understanding of architecture, landscape architecture, and design through activities which foster evocative and creative dialogue within the design community and with the general public. 

New England Foundation for the Arts hosts the Creative Communities Exchange (CCX) every two years, rotating its location amongst the six New England states. Portland hosted the CCX in 2013 and Creative Portland hosted a workshop at the 2015 conference in New London, CT. 

Eggs & Issues is a monthly program of the Portland Regional Chamber of Commerce. Since it's inception in 1985, it has become Maine's largest networking breakfast. The Chamber also rolled out Kegs & Issues, a similar but after-hours networking and speaker event, in Fall 2017. 

Maine Arts Commission hosts the Maine International Conference on the Arts every two years. Attendees explore art making, arts education, capacity-building strategies and skills, and more—all specifically for Maine artists, arts educators, and arts organizations.

PechaKucha Portland is a fast-paced, friendly social hour where people of all ages meet, show their work, and share their stories, presenting their creative work in 20 slides, at 20 seconds per slide, before a live audience of their peers. 

The PopTech Conference in Camden, Maine, is an annual gathering of global innovators exploring the social impact of new technologies and a source of support and funding for cutting-edge solutions to the world’s most pressing challenges.

TEDxDirigo is an independent, locally-organized version of the TED experience. In the spirit of the state motto, these events, held at different locations across the state, showcase ideas from Maine’s brightest innovators and change-makers.
