Taylor Mirabito

Illustrator and Occasional Muralist

Job Illustrator

Lives In The West End

Taylor Mirabito completed her BFA degree in illustration from Maine College of Art in 2016, with a minor in art history. She is an illustrator and fine artist living by the sea in Portland, Maine. She works primarily with acrylic paint and gouache but remains eager to take on mural installations and window displays. Her practice revolves around her adoration of botany, pattern making, and visual storytelling. While most of her time is spent determining just how small of a brush she can master, she also enjoys sunny bike rides, watching documentaries, visiting museums, and reading on her front porch with a strong cup of coffee. She is, at any given time, attempting to collect as many books and houseplants as possible. Her favorite garden inhabitants are snails and field mice.

Why did you choose Portland? I graduated from MECA and couldn't part with the city just yet.

Who are Portlanders you admire and why? All of my fellow artists! There are so many of us in Portland but everyone is so hardworking and I love hearing about the fun new projects everyone is working on and hearing friends' names being mentioned all over town.

What do you like to do with out-of-towners? Share my favorite food and coffee spots in town, hunt for treasures at the flea market and thrift stores.

What's your favorite indulgence and where do you find it? Going out to breakfast! Some of my favorites are: OhNo! Cafe, The Bayou Kitchen, Miss Portland Diner, and Dutch's.
