My passion for food stems from a college course that focused on the many neurological phenomena that occur through taste and smell. I stopped looking at eating simply as a means of survival and more as a source of enjoyment.

Although I am not a photographer by trade and not using professional equipment, I try my best to do justice to whatever edible artwork emerges from the kitchen. I hope my images and social media evoke both a sense of hunger and urgency. I truly believe that life is too short to deprive oneself of the rich pleasures that food can offer. My goal is to encourage both visitors and residents alike to try new foods, support local businesses, and to take the time to meet the hard-working people preparing the dishes and sourcing the ingredients. 

Why did you choose Portland? That's just how the chips fell. Mmm...chips...

Who are Portlanders you admire and why? Anestes who operates the Portland Food Map. He works incredibly hard to keep the dining community well-informed and he's just a really pleasant human being in general.

Where's your "happy place" on the peninsula? Longfellow Square, Eastern Prom when the food trucks are out, Vena's Fizz House

What's the most surprising thing about this city? That the infrastructure hasn't collapsed under the weight of all our amazing restaurants

What's your favorite indulgence and where do you find it? Lunchtime bento box at Miyake on Fore Street

Describe your perfect night—and the following morning—in Portland. Happy hour at MAPS for cake & tea, dinner on the patio at Isa, and pie at Tandem Bakery for breakfast
