Why did you choose Portland? Born in Rockport Maine, I left Maine for college and consulting work globally. I eventually came to the conclusion that I missed Maine and wanted to come home. I chose Portland due to the business opportunities, arts, culture, and phenomenal restaurants. What's more is the great trails for walking, biking, cross country skiing, and quick access to incredible golf and downhill skiing.
What's your favorite indulgence and where do you find it? Fore Street Pork, Josh's fabulous espresso martini's at 555, quail eggs and beef panang at Boda, skiing at Sunday River, biking in Falmouth, golfing at Falmouth Country Club, biking along the back bay with my children, events throughout our amazing art filled community, and simply walking down the streets of Portland watching people laugh and enjoy our amazing city.
What's the most under-appreciated place or thing in town? Longfellow Books. The staff are all amazing and incredibly helpful. Unlike the big box chain in South Portland which should be called "Toys-a-Million" instead of BAM, I can always get what I need that day or shortly there after.
Describe your perfect night—and the following morning—in Portland. A date night starting with a trip to the Museum of Art or a show at Merrill Auditorium, followed by eating at Boda or Fore Street Restaurant, a walk along the streets listening to the various music playing until we make our way to the Bar of Chocolate for an espresso martini nightcap. The next morning I awake to the sound of my children laughing, we all go to Sonney's for a great brunch, and then bike around the Bay after 10 when they close down Baxter Blvd.
I help high-acheiving parents and families get a life that FEELS as good as it LOOKS.
