Kym Dakin has been a working creative for most of the past 20 years. She is a Colorado native who spent a decade in the mosh pit of New York City theatre, with credits on Broadway, Off-Broadway, & national tours. She was a familiar face to Maine audiences at Madhorse Theatre, Acorn Productions & Portland Stage. She wrote & performed “Spectacles in Solitude” to Portland audiences, & is a founding member of Portland Playback Theatre Co. a unique art honoring real-life experiences by "playing back" stories through movement, music and voice. PPT plays First Fridays at CTN5. Kym runs Voice Into Learning, LLC, using theatre skills in presentation coaching, business training & medical education. She's passionate about audio and has recorded over 3 dozen audiobooks, one of them - Runaway by Alice Munro won an Audie Award for Short Story narration. She enjoys skiing, writing, hiking and being a Pecha Kucha Board Member and Master Gardener. Kym is Creator/Developer of Shift/POV: the Game that moves your group from Conflict to Collaboration in One Hour. Shift/POV was accepted into MCED's Top Gun Accelerator program.

What do you like to do with out-of-towners? MacWorth Island, Peaks Island, Paint Nites, Gather restaurant, David's restaurant, the Old Port, Walks on the Eastern prom, Portland Museum of Art, Frist Friday Art Walk
Where's your "happy place" on the peninsula? That beautiful view of the Bay from the base of Congress St.
What's the most surprising thing about this city? Brick sidewalks! And the wonderful StoryBrick project
What's your favorite indulgence and where do you find it? Taking in an art exhibit at MECA
Describe your perfect night—and the following morning—in Portland. Dinner at Sonny's, followed by live music at Port City Music Hall, Longfellow Square or State Theatre, lodging at the Regency and brunch (anywhere is good) with a long walk on the Eastern Prom.
