Lives In On the gritty edge of the West End
I love a good story.
In my job at Goodwill, I get to hear and promote stories.
In my board service at the Salt Institute for Documentary Studies, we are commited to educating students in the craft of storytelling.
In my Portland art studio, stories are my muse in the mediums of watercolor and encaustic paint.
I would love to hear your story.
Why did you choose Portland? I was born in Maine. I love Portland for the quality of life and all it has to offer.
What do you like to do with out-of-towners? I give them a special tour of my favorite places to see, explore and, of course, eat!
Where's your "happy place" on the peninsula? My art studio that overlooks the Casco Bay Bridge.
What's your favorite indulgence and where do you find it? Any of the soaks at Soakology paired with a head and neck massage.
What's the most under-appreciated place or thing in town? Harborview Park. Amazing view of the bridge and the Fore River.
Describe your perfect night—and the following morning—in Portland. Dinner at Outliers. The next morning the #1 egg sandwich from the Ohno Cafe and then a long walk on any of the Portland Trails.
Do you have a serendipity spot? Where do you always bump into good people? The farmers' market in Deering Oaks in the summer.
I collaborate with students, staff, faculty, and the community to make and keep USM environmentally sustainable
I use my twin identity as an artist and writer to create work for commercial and editorial clients.
I orchestrate a laboratory and training ground for the international contemporary dance community.
