I'm the owner and designer at Seven Tree Design Co. We focus on creating brand identities and websites for local business and start ups. As a designer, I love combining traditional and digital methods to create beautiful and functional design.
I also run Hills & Trails Co., a camping apparel and lifestyle company based in Portland, Maine.
Why did you choose Portland? I lived in Philadephia for five years where I got my degree in graphic design. After working in advertising for a year, I decided I wanted to live in a smaller city where I could thrive as a designer while being able to camp, hike, and snowboard. My family lives in coastal Maine, so it was a good fit.
Where's your "happy place" on the peninsula? East Bayside. I am always working at Coffee by Design, visiting my friends at Maine Craft Distillery and Rising Tide. I call it my bermuda triangle.
What's the most surprising thing about this city? How supportive and welcoming people are, I don't think I could have started my own business anywhere else.
