James Day Leavitt is a writer, musician and occasional painter. He was born and raised in Maine. He spent most of his 20's in Oakland, California, where he played bass in Three Years Down and Witticus, two East Bay punk bands. He returned to Maine in 1999 and resides in Portland.
He has published 5 books of poetry, the most recent of which in 2011, entitled Like a Warped Mirror.
When it's gone, a full length album was also released in 2011.
I use my twin identity as an artist and writer to create work for commercial and editorial clients.
My work is with paint as much as it is with the creative minds of Maine's foremost art students.
