Job Business Development/Sales Engineer

Lives In Portland (Oakdale Neighborhood)

I work as a Business Development/Sales Engineer at Groom Energy Solutions with ability to advise, engineer, finance, install and maintain a full spectrum of energy-efficient solutions for commercial and industrial facilities. Groom specializes in lighting, HVAC, and compressed air energy efficiency upgrades as well as renewable energy installs.

I also serve as an advisory board member for Portland Greendrinks, a non-profit organization working to provide a fun experience for people to connect with each other, non-profit organizations, and businesses in an effort to advance sustainability in their community.

Why did you choose Portland? The quality and unique character of the people who live here. A little more laid back lifestyle. Big city fun without the big city crowds! Great place to raise children. Nature, seasons, mountains, ocean, food, the list goes on and on!

Who are Portlanders you admire and why? Justin Alfond, great state senator and a great entrepreneur bringing upscale bowling fun to Portland!

What do you like to do with out-of-towners? Eat lobster, take them to the old port, visit one of many beaches and parks, take them out to eat at one of the many superb restaurants.

Where's your "happy place" on the peninsula? Eastern Promenade

What's the most surprising thing about this city? The professional opportunities, the interesting people, the creative community, the amount of fun!

What's your favorite indulgence and where do you find it? Almond croissants at Rosemont Market with a Coffee By Design coffee at the Hill Top Coffee Shop on Munjoy Hill.

What's the most under-appreciated place or thing in town? The Portland Trails system of recreational walking, biking and hiking trails.

Describe your perfect night—and the following morning—in Portland. Warm summer night. Dinner with friends at the Front Room on Munjoy Hill, strolling down the hill to the Snug for a pint of ale, continue to the Old Port to see Lyle Divinsky lay down some serious soul funk at the Big Easy!

Do you have a serendipity spot? Where do you always bump into good people? Favorite new spot in 2013 for a cup of joe, a scone, and bumping into friends is Crema Coffee Company!
